Season Your Container
Seasoning your container for use is crucial to ensure it properly maintains the humidity needed to keep your cannabis or tobacco in optimal condition. Follow these steps for the best results:
Wipe Down: Lightly wipe the inside of your container with a clean, damp cloth to remove any dust or debris. Use distilled water to avoid introducing unwanted chemicals or minerals and to prevent mold growth.
Season: Place a small, open container (provided) of distilled water inside and close the lid. This device will release moisture slowly, which the wood will absorb. Optional: Fill the plastic cup with propylene glycol to prevent over-humidification, which can lead to mold growth.
Wait: Close the lid and leave it undisturbed for 24-48 hours.
Monitor Humidity: Use a hygrometer to monitor the humidity level inside the humidor. The ideal humidity range for cannabis is between 40%-60% and tobacco 65%-72%.
Ready for Use: Once the desired humidity level is reached, remove the water source and the hygrometer. Your container is now ready to use!
Regular Maintenance: Re-season your container if you notice fluctuations in humidity or if the wood begins to dry out.
